Launch Day!


Howdy howdy hello, beautiful people! Today's the day I launch my first project: a text-based colony management game. But you're a dragon.

I'm very nervous to post this, but to the best of my knowledge, DREKI is in working condition with no dead-ends or broken functions. There's roughly half an hour of gameplay currently, up to a 'final boss' of sorts with multiple results based on how well you did (or didn't) do in prepping. I consider this to be a vertical slice of what DREKI should eventually become; the basic gameplay loop is in place, as is the framework for more.

Naturally, since this is but a piece of the pie, I've got a vague roadmap for what's coming next! Not necessarily in this order.

  • Mini-updates: Balancing, adjustments, and fixes. These are going to happen between all major updates.
  • Colonists: Currently, colonists are very one-note. I intend to fix that and give them a bit more spice. For good or for ill. =)
  • Random events: Going into your territory at all will occasionally get you side-tracked. Some of these are just misadventures, some will give you a bit of a collection bonus, and some might be more than they seem.
  • Locations: Rendering currently available visit destinations more complete, as well as adding a couple more. Locations oughta feel unique and valuable!
  • Construction: New buildings, adjustments to how builders work, interactions with those buildings, and modifications for the PC's den.
  • Diplomacy: You are not alone in the wide, wild world. And boy do these guys have Opinions about you!
  • More!

Updates will be a bit irregular due to learning how to code on the job, but DREKI is, one way or another, always being worked at. Cheers, all!
